gardening bear

This watercolour painting is the design I painted for fathers day for my dad's card. My dad is a keen gardener so I always tend to do a gardening themed card. I have always struggled to find fathers day cards for my dad as he isn't interested in beer, football, golf or cars which takes out 90% of cards in shops and the other 10% tends to be fart jokes. And none of those things are my dad. So I have to make one every year.
I feel like fathers day cards are so hard to buy for so many people, so I know I'm not alone in this struggle.
This bear is digging up some carrots and beetroot for an autumn harvest.

Teddy bear

This bear is from a get well soon card I made. The bear is more of a teddy bear then a big grizzly bear. He is a little bit battered but that just shows he's been loved. It was made with watercolours, fine liner and watercolour pencils. I use these 3 medians for nearly all my traditional illustrations when I dont use digital.
I've always been  a big fan of bears and still cuddle up to one every night.

Do you still sleep with a bear or any cuddly ? If so wants their name?

pirate ship

So I got a moleskin watercolour sketchbook for my birthday and I was too scared to use it for so long. But I came up with this concept and thought yeah let's go for it, let's start the sketchbook. This illustration is of some children pirates voyaging  to a new adventure. I used watercolours, a fine liner and some watercolour pencils. I prefer to use watercolour pencils over regular coloured pencils as I find them softer and I like that.

Do you get scared to start a new sketchbook?

bumble bee

This is an old painting I did  back in 2018 but I still really like it. Its a watercolour of a bee. The purple background was chosen as bees love purple flowers like lavender. I also used a black fine liner and a white fine liner.

A young boy and his dog

This is an illustration is to help explore and improve on drawing toddlers. This toddler is playing with a dog in the garden. This kid is just super cute in his little dungarees with a tiny little dinosaur on the pocket. I had a lot of fun with this and he is inspired by some of the kids at the place I work in the day.

3 little flowers

Sometimes I love to just make some happy and bright and bold designs. This one is just one of those. I was messing around my sketchbook app and made this. I love to make colourful designs to bring happiness to myself and others.

I'm nuts about you

Last of the sainsbury's valentine's day competition entries. This one was one inspired by a painting one I did last year that I thought I'd do digitally.
I am planning on making my pun designs into postcards or greetings card but if you want one or a few before I have officially made them to sell, message me on Facebook or Instagram and I'll make them specially for you.

Muffin compares to you

Another punny valentine's card for the sainsbury's competition. This cute little chocolate chip muffin just wants a big hug to spread the love around.

What is your favourite flavour of muffin?
I love a mini muffin like the ones you get in the boxes at tesco.

University student essentials

I miss being a student so I thought I would make a fun little illustrated poster of some things you need as a student, at least what I think are an absolute must.
I used watercolours and watercolour pencils and a little bit of metallic ink cos I love a little bit of sparkle and shine.

The essential I've drawn are:
-an extension lead (your uni room might not have many plugs and if you are an international student you will need one with the correct adaptors to suit your plugs.)
-scissors, they are just something you need in your life and many of us just forget to pack a pair.
-hangers so you can hang things in your wardrobe as your room most likely won't come with any.
-fairy lights to make your room cosy and homely in the evening as your room can feel bare and weird so make it feel nice to live in.
-slippers or slides as your kitchen and communal areas might not always be the cleanest so you don't want to be bare foot or ruin your socks.
-colourful cutlery, there will probably be at least 5 others in your uni flat or house all with a set of knives and forks. You will loose a spoon or two but if you get a unique and colourful set you are less likely to loose them and if someone steals your folk you can call them out better rather then everyone in the flat having boring plain metal cutlery.
- toilet roll is just a life must but you can easily forget to pack some and you don't want to need some and not have any.
-pot noodles are a stereotypical uni meal but they do make a decent lunch every now and again. Don't live off them but they aren't that bad. You can also get 20p ones from lidl so they are super cheap and you can add extras to it like frozen spinach and quorn pieces to make it a more balanced soup.
-tupperware is so great. Great for putting things in the microwave and for when you've made too much pasta.
-pin board pins, your room will most likely have a big pin board and pins mean you can put photos and posters up so its more interesting and homely.
-playing cards mean you always have something to play with at a games night or pre drinks.
-id don't go to uni without some form of id. You will need it to get into pubs and clubs but you might also need it to enrol at the uni on your first day.
-grater as who doesn't love to make all meals Cheesy.
-pesto and pasta as its a super super simple meal and most students eat this at least once a week.

What else would you consider a must for uni students?

You're shrimply the best

Another design made for the sainsbury's valentine's competition. This one has 2 little shrimps on and a pun on simply the best. I like this design a lot as I love the 2 main colours used and I think its really fun.

Theres so mushroom in my heart for you

This was originally made for a competition run by Oh deer on Instagram for sainsbury's valentine's day card collection.  Sadly I didn't win but I had loads of fun making the designs. If you have been a reader for a while, you would know I love puns so I had to make pun designs. This little fun-guy has a lot of love in his heart so can show you all the love in the world.

deadpool and spiderman

This piece of fan art was done a few years back when I was in sixth form. It is on the back of math gridded paper as I nicked the paper from my school friend who made a mistake with her maths revision so there is still some crazy hard maths equation on  the back that goes right over my head. These 2 are two of my favourite marvel characters as I love the comedy in their films. I don't normally draw superheroes but I love marvel films so maybe I should draw more.

What is your favourite marvel film?

Jeremy in the record shop

This is a commission I completed for a twitter follower who wanted a new twitter header. They love visiting record shops and browsing all the vinyl so here they are illustrated at the record store picking out their favourites. I really enjoyed this commission as I got to recreate lots of iconic album covers to put on the wall.

What is your favourite ever album cover?
