magical witch

This character is a draw this in your style started by @_banshee_art_ on Instagram to celebrate their 600 followers. This witch is very magical with her love of crystals and her pet snake. She's been in a few scraps and has a bit of blood dripping but she's still happy. I always love joining in to dtiys challenges as people create such interesting characters that I would never think of. Take this one for example, I'm no expert on witches and a lot of things surrounding that so I don't tend to draw them often apart from if I'm drawing a children dressed as a witch ready to go trick or treating. This witch on the other hand is grown up and a bit more sexy with her lower cut top and her tattoos. I made her hair looks  magical with her bright colours and shinyness. Her pet snake is very cute and have a wonderful leafy plant pattern on her. As alway with my dtiys posts, if you have a dtiys that you have created and want more people to join in, send then to me on Instagram or Facebook or twitter or whereever and ill give it a go!!!

Queen of Spades

All the drawing in the mini series like most of my digital drawings are drawn on auto desk sketchbook. This is my preferred digital drawing application as it have used it on my laptop and my galaxy tablet.
Its interface is easy to navigate so its quick to learn how it works where as when I use Adobe at university I find it a lot harder and I only know what I need to know like the basics and what I have been taught at school and uni. I would love to be a proper professional on most of the Adobe apps but I only really know illustrator,  photoshop, Indesign and after effects but even then since I only use them at uni now, I have not had the time to learn all he features yet. But I want to learn them so much more so I am more confident using all adobe softwares.
Next year at uni, I promise myself I will learn more about adobe, hope all you readers hold me to this....

One of the biggest positives with auto desk sketchbook is that its free!!!!!! I'm a proper yorkshire lass who loves a bargain and will avoid paying for things where ever possible so I free software that works well and is easy to use is the best thing ever in my opinion!!!
Most people on Instagram seem to use procreate on ipad but however i am not the biggest fan of apple products so I can not use it on my galaxy tab. Plus it isn't free so thats not so good for me. But the software of procreate looks good and easy to use which is probably why most digital artists on Instagram use it.

Are you a digital artist? Where software do you use? Comment below

lemon gal

This piece was inspired by a dtiys I found on Instagram, I loved the colourful clothing the original artist used. This drawing helped me explore even  more of the brushes on Autodesk sketchbook and I loved the textures I managed to get from them. I hope you ime this drawing.

Toon me challenge

Toon Me Challenge on Instagram was a very popular challenge over January and this is my attempt. It's not my favourite drawing I've ever done but it was an interesting idea so I really wanted to try it and join in with the fun. Hope you like it!!

hello

since I have actually started posting some what regularly, I wanted to introduce myself a little more.

My name is Charlotte Whiteing and I am an illustrator and designer from England. I am currently studying illustration at the University of Huddersfield in Yorkshire. As an artist, I tend to focus a lot on work aimed towards children with cute and playful designs, this passion for children's work will hopefully allow me to illustrate for children's books in the future.

As well as children's drawings, I make and design a lot of greetings cards for friends and family. Soon I plan on getting some of my cards professionally printed so I can sell them (if this interests you comment on this post or message me on my social media!!).

I mostly use watercolours and fine liner pens for my illustrations as I love the effect I can get with them. Recently, I have been experimenting with digital using Autodesk sketchbook on my laptop as I want to improve digital skills a lot as I know it is very for commercial work which I hope to do more of in the future. The self portrait above in an example of my recent digital experimentations. I am also a very big fan of different printing techniques like lino and Risograph as I like the more individual style of each print.

I hope this lets you get to know me a little more and if you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to ask in the comments on my posts or any of my social media accounts.
