Dog watercolour

Something a little bit different but something I want to do more of. This was a Christmas present for my partners family of their pet dog. She is a very sweet dog. I had never actually done a pet portrait of a dog before this as I'd only ever done cats before. However I think this turned out so well especially for a first time. I am always open to accepting commissions for pet portraits like this at only £40! If you are interested message me on any of my socials or email me and make sure you have a good photo that can be easy to draw from. Watercolours on Watercolour page is the median that the portrait will be drawn using if you want one.

Taskmaster fanart- Aisling Bea

The new series of taskmaster is starting tonight and I'm very excited about that. This illustration is of the queen that is Aisling Bea in her snazzy green suit track suit. She is doing her watercolour cooler moment where she sat in a little best surrounded by ice fishing for chocolate. She looks so cute in that moment and I just had to draw it when I was doing one of my many many rewatches. Series 5 is one of the most iconic series for me as I love all 5 contestants and their dynamic. Taskmaster is my favourite show and I watch it all the time and never get bored of it. What show is like that for you?

Valentine's

This drawing is my version of lucy dillamore 's draw this in your style for valentine's day this year.  The little bike riding bunny is super cute and off to deliver their gifts to their valentine's. I used watercolours, oil pastels, sharpie and digital. Using lots of medians is so much fun and means I got lots of different textures and colours. Joining in with draw this in your styles is great way to get me out of an art block and to try out different styles, media and play around experimenting to things.

Back of business card

This goes with the previous post as this goes on the back of business card.
This card involves 3 common features of my work- puns and koalas and tea. I love all 3 things and I think this illustration tells the viewer a lot about who I am as an artist. The tea bag is also a Yorkshire tea tea bag tag so people have an idea that I am from Yorkshire as as a Yorkshire born person, I am very passionate about Yorkshire tea.
I like it when business cards have a fun design on the back as then I can put it on a pin board for inspiration. I love collecting illustrator business cards and how they show off their wonderful style and express themselves. When I went to thought bubble a few years back, I picked up loads of business cards and put my favourites on the back of my bedroom door for inspiration and followed loads of them on Instagram. I plan on going back to thought bubble hopefully maybe this year and maybe I could even have a stall one day. Have you ever been to thought bubble?

New banner and business card

This piece is the start of my rebranding. I am starting to rebrand in a more professional way and make all my socials a little bit more streamline and matching. This piece is for my socials as a banner/ header and also as a business card. Koalas are a common theme in a lot of illustrations so my business card i felt like had to involve a cute little koala.  I drew a koala drawing on the wall in a child like way to show my illustration style is childlike. Very proud of this piece and am excited to finally making myself a more professional as a freelance illustrator right now.

Magical flying unicorn

This peice is my take on Tim Budgen's dtiys for the publication of his book 20 unicorns at bedtime. I used watercolours to sketch it out and add base colour and then scanned it in to my tablet to draw and add details on top.  This drawing is one of my favourites I've drawn this year so far.

deadpool and spiderman

This piece of fan art was done a few years back when I was in sixth form. It is on the back of math gridded paper as I nicked the paper from my school friend who made a mistake with her maths revision so there is still some crazy hard maths equation on  the back that goes right over my head. These 2 are two of my favourite marvel characters as I love the comedy in their films. I don't normally draw superheroes but I love marvel films so maybe I should draw more.

What is your favourite marvel film?

Jeremy in the record shop

This is a commission I completed for a twitter follower who wanted a new twitter header. They love visiting record shops and browsing all the vinyl so here they are illustrated at the record store picking out their favourites. I really enjoyed this commission as I got to recreate lots of iconic album covers to put on the wall.

What is your favourite ever album cover?

Happy spring

Happy spring everyone in the northern hemisphere.
Here is a cute little spring illustration I did of a mummy rabbit and her litter of bunnies in front of a blossom tree.

What is your favourite season?
My favourite season changes all the time depending on what the weather is like and what I'm feeling.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year
----
Here is my top nine of the year. It's clear the animal week drawings from June was a very popular series with 5 of them making the top 9. Even though this year has been hard and it's been strange, I've enjoyed creating and drawing a lot. I got my galaxy tablet in December 2019 and over the year I've practiced and improved my digital drawing skills lots. One of my highlights of the year was completing my first children's book i made for my second year of uni and I'm still so proud of it and can't wait to create more children's stories in the future. I'm very grateful for all the support everyone has shown this year and it has really helped keep me sane and motivated. Let's hope the world gets better in 2021 and I continue to improve my skills even further.

surprised pikachu pumpkin

Pumpkins every year are one of my favourite things to do and I always like to do something a little different ( I might show you all my older pumpkins in the future). This year i went along the meme root by making a surprised pikachu one. I think it turned out really well and I even gave it a little lightning bolt tail round the back too! What did you make your pumpkin into this year?

peacock

Was watching telly and saw a peacock and just wanted to draw one so I did. This is probably the realistic digital drawing I've done and I love this piece. Some of the textured brushes on autodesk sketchbook looked so fluffy and feathery so they worked so well. Peacocks are very interesting animals and very pretty. However I am pretty scared of them as they tend to get very close to you which I really don't like. Peacocks don't know how to social distance..... A few years back me and my family were at Nunnington Hall near York and having a picnic and this peacock was getting very cocky and trying to eat my cheese sandwich from me. Now I'm like joey from friends and CHARLOTTE DOESNT SHARE FOOD!!!! so I wasn't having any of this nonsense from the peacock and have disliked them ever since and have tried avoided them. I hope I'm not alone on the peacock disliking but they are pretty so can appreciate them from a distance...

Summer Strawberries

Happy summer! its not felt too summery much this year, it seemed warmer in April when we could leave the house than in June and July when England as been more open. Strawberries remind me of Wimbledon and those fun summer days of sitting in the house watching tennis all day and having Strawberries and ice cream for pudding each evening, so good. I was feeling summery and wanted to do a fun, bright and colourful pattern design for summer time. Wow I've types summer a lot, does it still sound like a real word?

I didn't used to eat a lot of fruit but I am getting better now and a lot less fussy. I used to only have apples and Strawberries ( but only in season) but recently I've been trying a lot more fruit and its quite nice. Hope this increased fruit consumption continues when I'm back at university living away from home but I'm not sure it will. Whys fruit so expensive?!?? Seriously Lidl I won't pay £2 for like 10 raspberries. Might just be my thriftiness shining through again.....

What is your favourite fruit?

lemons

To kick off summer, I wanted to draw something fun and colourful so I drew some lemons. Lemons make me feel so happy and refreshed. Lemon is one of my favourite flavours and lemonade is one of my favourite draws no matter what type of lemonade it is, whether it's still or sparkling or cloudy or clear. It's all tasty and yummy and refreshing.

Mountain climbers

The second prompt for animal adventure week was mountains. Kerry rode a llama up the mountains and meets mountain goats and bold eagles and other animals on the way up to the top. I really like the drawing as I love the way I did the clouds and mountain, I am enjoying working on scenery in my work. Scenery has never been an area I have been particularly as good at as I'm not as confident but this prompt list is helping me work on my scenery and settings and I'm loving it so far!!!

cinedraw challenge part 3

Day 3 was comedy and for this I drew Jojo Rabbit. I went to see this in the cutest cinema ever in Newcastle and I want to go back again soon. I loved this film a lot, it was so funny and I have a real fascination for films set in WW2 especially more about people instead of lots of guns and fighting. I want to see this film again and again and I don't think I could get bored of it. Little Roman who played the lead was so excellent and I really hope he does well in the future.

What is your favourite genre of film?
