Back of business card

This goes with the previous post as this goes on the back of business card.
This card involves 3 common features of my work- puns and koalas and tea. I love all 3 things and I think this illustration tells the viewer a lot about who I am as an artist. The tea bag is also a Yorkshire tea tea bag tag so people have an idea that I am from Yorkshire as as a Yorkshire born person, I am very passionate about Yorkshire tea.
I like it when business cards have a fun design on the back as then I can put it on a pin board for inspiration. I love collecting illustrator business cards and how they show off their wonderful style and express themselves. When I went to thought bubble a few years back, I picked up loads of business cards and put my favourites on the back of my bedroom door for inspiration and followed loads of them on Instagram. I plan on going back to thought bubble hopefully maybe this year and maybe I could even have a stall one day. Have you ever been to thought bubble?

New banner and business card

This piece is the start of my rebranding. I am starting to rebrand in a more professional way and make all my socials a little bit more streamline and matching. This piece is for my socials as a banner/ header and also as a business card. Koalas are a common theme in a lot of illustrations so my business card i felt like had to involve a cute little koala.  I drew a koala drawing on the wall in a child like way to show my illustration style is childlike. Very proud of this piece and am excited to finally making myself a more professional as a freelance illustrator right now.

Cracking day

A couple of years ago I made 4 koala watercolours for Christmas so I wanted to get to that collection a little with another piece. This watercolour shows 2 koalas, all warm in patterny Christmas, pulling a big Christmas cracker. What will they get in the Christmas cracker? Hopefully a bad joke, a little paper hat that doesn't fit and a little toy. Maybe it will be the fortune telling fish...

Does your country do Christmas crackers or is it just a British thing?

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone. Here is the drawing I made for this Easter season. I thought I hadn't drawn one of my koala characters in a long time for I thought I would let little kerry go on a big Easter egg hunt in the garden.

Lets help kerry, How many Easter eggs can you see?

And can you spot the magical bunny that put them there?

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year
----
Here is my top nine of the year. It's clear the animal week drawings from June was a very popular series with 5 of them making the top 9. Even though this year has been hard and it's been strange, I've enjoyed creating and drawing a lot. I got my galaxy tablet in December 2019 and over the year I've practiced and improved my digital drawing skills lots. One of my highlights of the year was completing my first children's book i made for my second year of uni and I'm still so proud of it and can't wait to create more children's stories in the future. I'm very grateful for all the support everyone has shown this year and it has really helped keep me sane and motivated. Let's hope the world gets better in 2021 and I continue to improve my skills even further.

in the sky

For the last prompt, kerry is in the sky floating on clouds and hanging out with the seagulls. With animal adventure week, I have improved my skills and loved drawing different animals and places. I feel like I want to take the character of kerry further and write a whole story about her and her travels around the world seeing lots of animals and habitats. Hope you guys have liked my drawings of kerry for animal adventure week.

swinging through the trees

The next prompt was in the trees so I decided to draw kerry tarzaning through the trees on vines with the lemurs and orangutans. Kerry is nervous about swinging through the trees but enjoys it all the same.

desert trekking

This is the fifth prompt for animal adventure week that was in the desert. Kerry is riding a camel and sees a meerkat in the dry desert. Fun fact I rode a camel in the Moroccan desert a couple of years ago, I didn't really enjoy the experience of camel riding and felt quite travel sick but it's a life experience and something I ticked off my bucket list. Also on the trip, I camped for the night in the desert and not gonna lie I was one of the best nights sleep I've ever had. Being in the desert was amazing, we saw the sun set ( wasn't up early enough to see it rise) and saw the moon rise. The moon was so beautiful and big. It was a brilliant life experience that I will remember forever. Now back to the drawing, this isn't my favourite drawing by far but I like that it comes with a story.

under the sea

Fourth prompt for animal adventure week was under the sea. Kerry has changed outfit into a wetsuit to go deep sea diving into the coral reef. She sees lots of sea creatures on her swim like fish, turtles and crabs.

Mountain climbers

The second prompt for animal adventure week was mountains. Kerry rode a llama up the mountains and meets mountain goats and bold eagles and other animals on the way up to the top. I really like the drawing as I love the way I did the clouds and mountain, I am enjoying working on scenery in my work. Scenery has never been an area I have been particularly as good at as I'm not as confident but this prompt list is helping me work on my scenery and settings and I'm loving it so far!!!

Jungle adventures

On Instagram, I found the prompt list for animal adventure week 2020 that was a challenge for the first week of june 2020.
For this list of prompts, I created the character of Kerry the koala who is an explorer.
The first prompt was the jungle. In this drawing, I drew kerry in a boat floating down the river going through the jungle. In the jungle we see a leopard, sloth and parrot.

Koala

second drawing in this series of digital animals. koalas are one of my favourite things to draw as my sister is obsessed and I have drawn many for her in the past.  I used Autodesk sketchbook and I had fun working with some of the tools to get a furry fluffy like texture to the animal.
